Helps relieve the gloomy, depressed feelings that may occur after birth. American Indians treated sore throats and rheumatism with this herb. Black Cohosh is a sedative central nervous system tonic and a powerful relaxant. Caution: contains a gastric irritant that may cause nausea or headache if too much is used. A large dose can induce a frontal headache.
